  1. Bericht van onze Filipijnse partners: Day of Struggle of the Indigenous Peoples of Caraga

    Today, September 1, 2016, the indigenous peoples (Lumad) of Caraga, especially those who continue to struggle for the achievement of their comprehensive rights, has declared as the first commemoration of the Eydow Tu Pakigsantuya Tu Tumindok Kane't Caraga (Day of Struggle of the Indigenous Peoples of Caraga). This declaration is a recognition of the inexhaustible contribution of all Lumad that genuinely stand for the defense and protection of ancestral lands for all generations of the tribe. The history of struggle of the Lumad in Caraga is rich in lessons about life, experiences of struggle and triumph amidst many difficulties and strong anti-people current.

    Norma Capuyan, vice chair of Apo Sandawa Lumadnong Panaghiusa sa Cotabato (ASLPC), says in the press conference Friday, February 27, 2009 there is need to strengthen the ranks of indigenous peoples in Mindanao to be able to defend their ancestral domains. Capuyan is among of the 200 indigenous peoples who gathered in Davao City for the first assembly of the Kusog sa Katawhang Lumad sa Mindanao(Kalumaran), an umbrella organization of indigenous peoples groups in Mindanao, in Davao City on February 27 to March 2.   2. Kalayaan en Filipijnse onafhankelijkheid - een verslag

    Zaterdag 26 juni stond helemaal in het teken van de Filipijnen. In het Zuidpark te Gent vierden we de 118e verjaardag van de onafhankelijkheid. Een dag waarbij enerzijds verbroederd, gevierd en gefeest werd, maar waar er anderzijds ook veel aandacht ging naar de moeilijke situatie in de Filipijnen.
